Where Do I Get Maple Water?

Hoser maple water, eh?
I am a HUGE fan of coconut water. All natural with  no added ingredients. Curbs the appetite, quells the thirst and is very good for you. I have found a local store that carries it relatively cheap. Much cheaper than, say, the energy drinks out there.

Then I heard about Maple Water. It is being touted as the new coconut water. All natural and naturally sweet tasting. I immediately went looking for it and was sad to see it is only sold in Canada! No way, eh!? Those hosers are hogging all the good stuff, eh?! You can see it for sale on the Canada version of Amazon but they won't let me ship it to the States.

There are a few versions (here and here) out there for sale but none that I can get my American hands on.

So I thought I would put the question out on the blogosphere: Does anyone know where to buy some maple water in the states and get it shipped to Arizona?

  1. Maybe somewhere in Vermont?

  2. I am still trying to find Mapleine to make my own maple flavored syrup. 2 ounces is very high priced but it still beats the price of real maple syrup which you have to trade your first born for. I imagine anything with the word maple in it is going to be very pricey even if you find it.

  3. After looking it appears that maple water is a more diluted version of maple syrup. Basically they stop evaporating off the water at an earlier point. So experiment with thinning down a good maple syrup.

  4. I would think that maple water is simply maple sap that has not yet been boiled down to concentrate the sugars. Takes 40 gallons of sap to make a single gallon of maple syrup, so reversing the math: 40 Tablespoons of water (2.5 cups) + 1 tablespoon of maple syrup = maple water, right ?

  5. If you read the packaging on the maple water, they are describing it as the liquid tapped from the maple tree, which is the sap, with no processing, so diluting real maple syrup down will at least let you know if you like the "maple water", without paying for shipping. If you don't like it, you still have the maple syrup for hotcakes.

  6. You can make your own! Find a big maple tree, drill a hole, insert a spile and hang a bucket on it! Of course, you can only do it in early spring, but it's delicious, pure, natural and comes out at a steady drip when the weather's right.
