Two chicks develop normally, but then run out of room and can't grow enough to be viable. (Although it is bigger, the double yolked egg is not actually twice the size of normal.) I've never tried it myself. Double yolks happen because the egg travels too slowly through the oviduct, which is why that hen doesn't lay every day.sallyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00450407468765544595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7231305164855240671.post-26215646167406471162014-10-31T19:43:59.855-06:002014-10-31T19:43:59.855-06:00I do So want to try it. Anyway always said a double-yolker egg is good luck (fried or poached) :PAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7231305164855240671.post-82807140645387437792014-10-27T10:19:53.454-06:002014-10-27T10:19:53.454-06:00Yes they do, in fact in a couple of minutes I will...Yes they do, in fact in a couple of minutes I will be devouring a couple of egg sandwiches. The white frilly stuff that clings to the yoke is the embryo. If you have two embryos then I suppose it would be possible for two chicks to form and, if they live, to hatch.Dizzy-Dickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.com
