I came home from work a few mornings ago and found my metal garage door COVERED in these things. They were no other place on the house. I'm guessing they were enjoying radiant heat?
Just wanted to make sure these little guys weren't anything to worry about (
either for the kids or garden).
I'm not sure but it looks like the bug that for the last 2 years has invaded my tomatoes. Is is a greyish, black and white bug as I can't tell too well from the picture?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is what they are officially called, but in this part of Oregon we call them Pine Beetles. They can be quite large and their antennae can get really long.
ReplyDeleteWe use a couple of sites to ID mystery bugs..... http://www.insectidentification.org/ or http://www.whatsthatbug.com/ The first link you select some identifying factors and the other one you can send them a good clean pic of it and they'll help you identify it. I went to the first link and the best I can tell from your picture is it looks like a spotted tree borer beetle. Get the bug spray...
ReplyDeleteTry using pesticides that ,but of cause one that will not have any effects to the tomatoes,it works really well with a routine in administration to the plant.Consult with your local area healthcare store, for the recommended potions.
